Stands still...

Today morning when i was waiting at the signal.. suddenly a small kid started doing somersault and other funny(supposed to be) activities in front of my car.. i was a little scared as the signal turned green and so much traffic was there.. but there was no sign of fear on his face.. and he kept doing it.. but a deep pain was flowing in his eyes.. as he wanted to say something.. and donno why i started feeling guilty and wasnt able to look at his face.. he knocked my window and pointed towards the coins.. i gave him one and he moved to another car.. doing same actions again.. some gave him money.. some didnt.. i moved with the traffic.. but that boy left me in deep thoughts.. i was bound to think where are we going..

We Indians who claims that we are growing by leaps and bounds.. but today that kid made me think.. are we really progressing?? on the occasion of our 60th independence day i read so many articles and posts on our todays achievements and tomorrows dreams and all.. ofcourse it feels good to know and to be a part of that in anyway.. may be we are moving ahead but not as much as we think or say.. most of it is on paper only.. do progress lies in a salary hike of a software professional or in a well maintained shopping mall.. or how much SENSEX is going up??? we are busy in searching life on other planets.. but we dont want to think about life wandering on our roads..

Twenty years back when i was going somewhere with my father.. i gave a coin to some street child.. and today also iam doing the same everyday.. so how can we say that we are progressing??? for me we stand still.. and may be we'll for another twenty years... *sigh*

Song of the moment... bada kamzor hai aadmi.. abhi lakhon hai isme kami.. aye malik tere bande hum..

    What is growing
    exponentially is:
    the dimming of the sun,
    the warming of our planet,
    abuse of natural resources,
    desertification,
    demand for more food sources,
    corruption and crime,
    and all variety
    of wanton killing.
    Satellite pictures
    show enormous amounts of
    reflective air pollution
    produced by careless
    manufacturing in
    China, India, Europe, and
    North America.
    Progress is now being defined
by the destruction of our planet.
Where shall we retreat to exist
    when our planet is ruined?

    i feel the same yaa...!

As I wrote in one of my old post more than a year back that there are two-India. One where you and I live and other one that we all safely either ignore or pay change and move along. But I think that's the way we can live our lives in India by doing as much as we can but moving on with life. Everyone cannot be Mother Teresa but as much we can do in whatever small way should be enough :-)
